Searching the EBSCO Knowledge Base

The EBSCO Kb page is where you can search the EBSCO Knowledge Base by package name, title, or vendor name.

To search for titles in the Knowledge Base

  1. From any page in the Resources module, click EBSCO Kb from the navigation bar, then click New Search.

  2. Select Titles from the Search For drop-down list.

  3. Select either Title Name, Publisher, ISXN (ISBN or ISSN), or Subject, depending on the search field that you want to search by.

  4. Type your search terms in the contains field.

  5. Under Selection, specify whether to limit the list of results according to whether the resource is part of your library's holdings. You can choose one of the following options:

    • All—includes all matching results from the EBSCO Knowledge Base.

    • Selected in EBSCO Kb—includes only titles that are part of your library's holdings.

    • Not Selected—includes only titles that are not part of your library's holdings.

    • Ordered through EBSCO—includes only titles ordered through EBSCO.

  6. Under Resource Type, select a value in order to limit your results to include only titles of that type.

  7. Click Go! to search the Knowledge Base by title.

From the list of search results, you can view additional details about each matching title. From here, you can also select or import a title (or an entire package with that title). For more information, see Selecting and importing titles from the EBSCO Knowledge Base.

To search for packages in the Knowledge Base

  1. From any page in the Resources module, click EBSCO Kb from the navigation bar, then click New Search.

  2. Select Packages from the Search For drop-down list.

  3. Type your search terms in the Name field.

  4. Under Selection, specify whether to limit the list of results according to whether the resource is part of your library's holdings. You can choose one of the following options:

    • All—includes all matching results from the EBSCO Knowledge Base.

    • Selected in EBSCO Kb—includes only titles that are part of your library's holdings.

    • Not Selected—includes only titles that are not part of your library's holdings.

    • Ordered through EBSCO—includes only titles ordered through EBSCO.

  5. Under Content Type, select a value in order to limit your results to include only packages of that type.

  6. Click Go! to search the Knowledge Base by package name.

From the list of search results, you can view additional details about each matching package. From here, you can also select or import a package. For more information, see Selecting and importing packages from the EBSCO Knowledge Base.

To search for vendors in the Knowledge Base

  1. From any page in the Resources module, click EBSCO Kb from the navigation bar, then click New Search.

  2. Select Vendors from the Search For drop-down list.

  3. Type your search terms in the Name field.

  4. Click Go! to search the Knowledge Base by vendor name.

From the list of search results, you can view additional details about the packages available from each matching vendor. From the list of packages, you can also select or import a package. For more information, see Selecting and importing packages from the EBSCO Knowledge Base.
