Fields: Editing product details

Product details include both the information that you specified when creating the resource, as well as additional information about the resource, such as parent resources, associated organizations, and aliases.

Product

These fields contain all of the resource's basic information. The resource's format and type affect what workflow steps get assigned to this resource.

Name

Specifies the name of the resource. Typically resource names correspond to the name of the package that you are purchasing. For example, if you are purchasing a subscription to a digital publication, the name of the publication would serve as the name of the resource.

Description

Specifies more details about the resource. This can be helpful to help distinguish between multiple resources that have similar names.

URL

Specifies the URL to the provider, organization, or vendor's site, or to a link with more information about the resource.

Alt URL

Specifies an additional URL to the provider, organization, or vendor's site, or to a link with more information about the resource.

Parents

Specifies any parent resources that this resource belongs to. Type the name of a parent resource and click Add to add that resource as this resource's parent. Multiple resources can be added as parent resources.

Note: Parent resources must already exist to be associated with a resource.

ISSN/ISBN

Specifies the ISSN/ISBN number for the resource. Type the ISSN/ISBN number for the resource and click Add to add the number to the resource record. Multiple ISSN/ISBN numbers can be associated with a single resource.

Format

Lets you select the resource's format. For example, Electronic or Print & Electronic. You can configure the Resource Formats that are available in your system on the Resources module Admin page (for more information, see Resource Formats).

Type

Lets you select the resource's type. For example, DatabaseeBook, or eJournal. You can configure the Resource Types that are available in your system on the Resources module Admin page (for more information, see Resource Types).

Archived

Indicates whether this resource should be marked as archived. Archived resources are typically kept for archival purposes only.

Organizations

These fields contain information about any organizations that are associated with the resource.

Role

Specifies the role for the organization that you want to associated with this resource. You can configure the Organization Roles that are available in your system on the Organizations module Admin page (for more information, see ).

Organization

Specifies the organization that you want to associate with this resource. Select a role, type the name of the organization, and click Add to associate the organization with the resource. You can add and edit the Organizations that are available in your system in the Organizations module (for more information, see ).

Aliases

These fields contain information about any aliases that have been assigned to the resource.

Type

Specifies the type of the alias that you want to associate with this resource. You can configure the Alias Types that are available in your system on the Resources module Admin page (for more information, see Alias Types).

Alias

Specifies a name for the alias that you want to associate with this resource. Select an Alias Type, type the name of the alias, and click Add to associate the alias with the resource.
