Outlier parameters
Outlier Parameters let you set thresholds for count or percentage based alerts that are run on all imported statistical data. When the thresholds are reached, the system flags outlying trends for the data in certain colors to draw attention to large deviations in normal usage patterns. Use outlier parameters to help you track large increases in electronic resource usage patterns. These outliers are flagged on the Statistics tab for a platform, and in the custom reports that you can generate on the Usage Reports page.
For example, if your normal usage amounts generally run in the low hundreds, you could set up outliers for the mid hundreds and one at a thousand, to help you catch potential instances of abuse. You could also adjust your outlier parameters to help you track the effectiveness of a promotion by setting percentage based thresholds for a 150%, 200% and 250% increase in electronic resource usage. You can adjust your outlier parameters as much as necessary to help you track different patterns across the data for different platforms.
