Importing license terms from a file

You can import Usage, Supply, Continuing Access, Payment, and General terms from an ONIX for Publication Licenses (ONIX-PL) file. The system expects an .xml file that conforms to the latest ONIX-PL standard (for more information about the ONIX-PL standard, see Overview of the ONIX-PL standard).

Expressions and qualifiers for the term categories that you select are added as a new license or as new expressions and qualifiers to an existing license of the same name. The imported license is associated with the organization that you specify during the import.

To import license terms from a file

1. From any page in the Licensing module, click ONIX-PL File Import from the navigation bar.

2. Click Choose File and select the file that you want to import.

   Note: Only .xml files can be imported.

   

3. Select the terms from the license that you want to import by checking the appropriate boxes under the Import options section.
4. Type the name organization that you want to associate with the imported license in the Publisher / Provider field.

5. Click Upload.

   The system uploads the file and displays the actions that were taken for the import.
